Comfort Skateshop celebrated it's third year in the game earlier this month! Congratulations to Chris and Dee. Thanks for all that you do for skateboarding in Chattanooga.
Knock On Wood extends a welcoming hand to Keaton Brown on November 18th at the Longbranch Saloon. Keaton has been pushing the Tennessee streets this year, and has a full section ready to show for it. You can expect an all new Tennskate edit to open and premiere as well! Bottoms up at 7 p.m. and you have to be 18+ to get in. See you there!
Check out this healthy trailer for the upcoming Ruin Skateshop (Atlanta, Ga) video. Matt Creasy and John Willis are taking a timeless approach to this project, using several different formats that have shaped the unique look of skateboard films over the years. Study here if you need to brush up on Ruin's history, because this will be one to add to the collection!

Although we are constantly being exposed to new gear and new ideas, the one thing that won't be changing anytime soon is the skatepark. So, with that in mind I decided to take my GH2 down to the park and attempt to learn how to use my new tool.
We've been slacking on the original content as of late; The Comfort Skateshop/Tennskate video is in it's final stages, so all of our resources and energy are going towards wrapping this thing up. In the meantime, check out the Dirty Brown Stank Attack! Mark made this video in 2006, just before he moved to California. Up until this point it was only available on DVD few and far between. Watch full sections from Cameron Dell, Chris Scoggins and Ryan Cooper. This was an awesome time to be skateboarding in Tennessee, and I hope you guys get the hype that I have from it over the years!
The Nashville scene has become increasingly dense, with content flowing freely within severaldifferentplatforms. The first to catch my attention was The Loser Movement, which highlighted Nashville's finest just before the turn of this decade. I had not watched Randy Smith's "Along Those Lines" in years up until a few weeks ago, mainly because I never owned a hard copy. As fate and collective conciousness would have it, he is releasing the film in individual sections on his vimeo page. I really enjoy Randy's choice in music and he covers a ton of ground with a heavy line-up in this 2008 full-length. Blake, Casey and Jon West's parts are live now!
Curt Grove has been chipping away at an all new project, while learning the in's and out's of the HVX. I've been on a couple of sessions with Curt since the spring, and I've come to learn that he has a style of his own. He has atleast a decade of skating and filming under his belt with all different formats, so you can expect this film to be unique yet tactful. Keep your mind's eye open for Blacklist!

In a 'first of its kind' offering from Element Skateboards, Future Nature embodies the amateur skateboarder and its potential. Paul Shier puts on his National Geographic voice in this documentary/study of the Homo-sapien evolving into an erect body carriage, with the mental capacity to manipulate objects in such a way that we would be able to capture and discuss the nature of skateboarding. Senior Tennskate coordinator, Mark Stewart, spent months behind the lens and screen for this one, ladies and gents- and you can watch it to your heart's content today at no cost! Go ahead and pick it up from iTunes though, you'll want to observe it in the future...

I certainly couldn't, it went out halfway. I was fifteen and the year was 2006. Fast forward six years and I am sitting in the same Chattanooga skatepark parking lot. Don't get me wrong, a lot has changed...friends have come and gone, I'm writing this from a cell phone, and I've finally given up smoking.
